Shroom Shawarma

Meaty mushrooms coated in shawarma spice

500g mixed mushrooms (we prefer oyster, king oyster, shitaki and portobello, but any variety can work)
1.5tbsp. group shawarma spice blend (found in most supermarkets)
3tbsp. olive oil
Sea salt (to taste)
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
Lemon wedge, to serve 


  1. Grab a medium sized frying pan, heat up the olive oil until it is piping hot, almost smoking. 
  2. Chuck mushrooms in the pan, add the spice blend and toss around until all are coated. Add a decent pinch of salt and fry for 10-15 minutes 
  3. Serve on a platter, scatter parsley and serve with a wedge of lemon
